At Oklahoma, we’ve had a long history of embodying an underdog spirit. And in men’s basketball, that mentality has often led to us outperforming our resources. It’s on Coach Moser to make sure that our team’s performance continues to meet and exceed our resources for the program.…

Moser has coached the Sooners for the last five seasons and has a 93–74 record with the team. The Sooners (19-15) are considered an NCAA tournament bubble team after winning eight of their last 11 games and advancing to the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament before Friday’s loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Denny reportedly decided to bring back Moser before the Sooners’ run in the SEC tournament.
The Sooners had a slow start in conference play, losing nine straight league games at one point during the season.
Moser’s Sooners made the NCAA tournament last season before falling in the Round of 64 to UConn. That was Moser’s only tournament appearance with the Sooners. He also made it to the second round of the NIT with Oklahoma in 2021.
Last season, Oklahoma was led by freshman guard Jeremiah Fears. Fears entered the season as a consensus four-star recruit, and his performance at Oklahoma led the New Orleans Pelicans to select seventh overall in the NBA Draft.
Before becoming the head coach of the Sooners, Moser coached at Loyola Chicago, Illinois State University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Moser advanced to the Final Four and the Sweet 16 in different seasons during his time at Loyola Chicago.
