Final USC women’s basketball bracketology entering Selection Sunday
· Yahoo Sports
Selection Sunday is finally here! On Sunday, the brackets will be announced for both the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. While the USC men’s team is set to miss the tournament for the third year in a row, the Women of Troy appear in great position to make their fourth consecutive March Madness appearance.
So what can we expect to see for USC in Selection Sunday? On Saturday night, ESPN updated its bracketology for the women’s tournament. Currently, they have the Trojans as the No. 9 seed in the second Fort Worth region.

In this draw, USC would face No. 8 seed Villanova in the first round. With a victory, the Trojans would likely earn a second round matchup with No. 1 seed Texas.
ESPN also has USC as one of the “last four byes” for the tournament. This means that as of now, the Women of Troy would narrowly avoid having to play in the First Four. The thought of USC even being in danger of such was not a possibility just a few weeks ago, but the Trojans did not do themselves any favors by dropping their final four games of the year.
The NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on Sunday on ESPN. We will find out then what the postseason has in store for USC.
