Clemson baseball has another pitcher out with a season ending-injury
· Yahoo Sports
Clemson’s pitching staff has taken another hit before the season fully gets underway.
Freshman left-hander Dan Margolies will miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing elbow surgery, according to reports from our friends over at The Clemson Insider. Margolies is the second Clemson pitcher ruled out for the year, joining fellow left-hander Jacob McGovern, who will also be sidelined for the season.

Margolies previously dealt with Tommy John surgery earlier in his career. This time, the freshman underwent the internal brace procedure in an effort to repair the elbow injury. While the recovery timeline is typically shorter than traditional Tommy John surgery, it will still keep him off the mound for the duration of the season.
The injury comes after Margolies put together a strong fall during his first months in the program. His performance had positioned him as a potential option out of Clemson’s bullpen heading into the 2025 campaign, giving the Tigers another left-handed arm they could have turned to during the year.

Coming out of high school, Margolies was viewed as one of the more intriguing young arms in his class. Perfect Game ranked him No. 211 overall nationally and listed him as the No. 20 left-handed pitching prospect.
While Clemson will now move forward without him this season, the program still believes Margolies can have a future impact once he returns to full health.
