For the Cleveland Browns, last offseason was all about DE Myles Garrett’s trade request. Last year’s drama included LeBron James encouraging him to think about if “I was ready to consider any kind of move…” Garrett went on to break the single-season sack record and earn another Defensive Player of the Year Award after the Browns extended his contract, instead of trading him.

Garrett’s new contract included a no-trade clause and a structure that makes a trade unlikely as well.

While Garrett has continued to have on-field success, off-field issues have included multiple speeding and related issues. In August, Garrett was given a citation for going 100 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. In 2022, speeding led to Garrett losing control of his vehicle, and the star defender injuring his shoulder.

Teammate Shedeur Sanders was also pulled over last offseason for speeding.

The 2026 offseason has just started, but Garrett is back in the news for speeding, once again:

It will be interesting to see if new HC Todd Monken and DC Mike Rutenberg have a different reaction to Garrett’s speeding than former HC Kevin Stefanski and DC Jim Schwartz. Giving the timing of the citation, we are unlikely to hear from either Monken or Rutenberg until offseason activities get started.
