Nebraska basketball picked up a commitment from Sam Orme on Thursday evening. He made the announcement on social media.

Orme played for Belmont University last season and was a prolific shooter. He averaged 12.7 points per game to go along with five rebounds per game.

The Carmel, Indiana started the season on a high note, starting in 28 of the first 29 games played. He scored a career-high 22 points on eight-of-12 shooting in a 103-90 win over Drake in February.

He continued to play at a high level in postseason play, scoring 18 points in the quarterfinal round of the MVC tournament. Unfortunately, Belmont lost 100-79 to Drake.

This marks the first transfer portal pickup for Nebraska basketball. The Huskers suffered a departure on Wednesday morning as Berke Buyuktuncel entered the transfer portal.

This is a solid pickup for Nebraska basketball, as it gives them a stretch-four player. The program certainly is not done in the transfer portal, and this is a solid addition.
