Masters 2026: Bryson DeChambeau had a wild exchange with a reporter about his 3D printed 5-iron
· Yahoo Sports
AUGUSTA, Ga. — Despite shooting a four-over 76 that included a triple-bogey 7 on the 11th hole Thursday, Bryson DeChambeau did stop and speak to the media after the round. He wasn't exactly a chatterbox, though.
One subject he definitely did not want to talk all that much about was his 3D-printed 5-iron, which ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach confirmed he made himself on Wednesday.

DeChambeau said he hit the club only once on Thursday—off the tee on the par-4 seventh hole. His ball traveled 258 yards and found the left side of the fairway. Meaty.
"Good," said DeChambeau when asked how the iron was treating him. "It was great on seven."
DeChambeau later explained the 3D-printing process, as matter-of-factly as he could.
"Prints in eight hours," he said. "Machines, they're three or four hours. Then you have to cut grooves in it and do a bunch of other stuff. So you can have something within a day and a half."
Then came the odd exchange with a reporter who asked if it would be possible to have a new one of these 3D-printed irons in the bag by the weekend. Here's how that went:
OK then!
For those wondering, the 3D-printed 5-iron that DeChambeau hit just once in the opening round is conforming, though, as The Athletic's Gabby Herzig reported, DeChambeau did have to make some slight tweaks to it before this week.
Before his post-round presser ended, he was asked one last time to explain the process further.
"That's a longer conversation. It's not for here."
