ACGC, which went 6-16 and 3-11 in the Central Minnesota Conference, is inexperienced.
Kendall Miller, who was a Class A All-State Honorable Mention and an All-Area First Team selection as a third baseman/pitcher, and Brooke Schultz, who tied ACGC's record for most triples in a season with five, headline the senior class that exited the program.
Miller, who batted .439 and tallied a .722 slugging percentage, recorded 42 strikeouts in 62-1/3 innings pitched. She is the ACGC record holder for career strikeouts with 389.
Schultz, who hit .343 and posted a .463 slugging percentage, had 23 hits and 20 runs scored.
Nelson's team has two returning starters: Brooke Johnson and Allie Simon.
Johnson is a junior catcher/infielder and Simon is a junior pitcher/infielder.
"Many new Falcons are anticipated to contribute in the 2026 season," said Nelson, who has assistant coaches Quincy McNeil and Bethany Barka on his staff.
Shawnta Ludwig, Mallorie Johnson and Emma Ruter are ACGC's three seniors, followed by Johnson and Simon and fellow juniors in Payton Smith and Avaya Williams.
Kelsie Blom, Ava Burgmeier and Libby Johnson are a trio of sophomores who look to bolster ACGC's lineup, as will ninth-grader Jayden Johnson.
"We're hoping to reload," said Nelson, who is a science and math teacher at ACGC.
