The Seattle Seahawks are ensuring their superstar wide receiver will remain in the Pacific Northwest for several more years. According to multiple reports, the Seahawks and Jaxon Smith-Njigba agreed to a four-year deal worth $168.6 million on Monday morning.

This new contract makes Smith-Njigba the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history at $42.15 million per year. Tacked onto his current contract, Smith-Njigba is now signed through the 2031 season.

Smith-Njigba, 24, is the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, putting up a league-leading 1,793 yards. He caught 119 passes and scored 10 touchdowns. He averaged 105.5 yards per game, posting his second straight season with 100-plus catches and 1,100 yards.

The Seahawks selected Smith-Njigba 20th overall in the 2023 draft out of Ohio State. He has yet to miss a single game, playing all 51 in the last three years. He has 3,551 yards receiving and 20 touchdown catches, emerging as the unquestioned WR1 in Seattle with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett gone.
