To start the 2026 NCAA women's basketball Tournament, the Michigan women's team will face off against Holy Cross as a 2-seed, the Selection Sunday revealed.

The Wolverines (25-6) will host Holy Cross at Crisler Center on Friday, March 20. The time and TV channel will be revealed later.

The Wolverines are coming off a 59-42 loss to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament. Despite the loss, Michigan is still among the five Big Ten teams that will host the first and second rounds of the women's tournament at their campus sites.

Michigan was among the top 10 for the last 16 weeks and went 14-1 this season at the Crisler Center.

Michigan will host a pod of games for the second time in program history, and the first time since 2022.
