The Miami Dolphins made some big decisions this offseason in a bid to improve.

The team moved on from Tua Tagovailoa and replaced the longtime starter with Malik Willis. Willis received a three-year. $67.5 million deal to be the team's franchise signal-caller.

There's reason to be excited about Willis, but the Dolphins need to surround him with more talent. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is no longer around, and there's not much to be excited about at the tight end spot either.

As a result, Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports thinks the Dolphins will add a former Pro Bowl tight end to the roster. Dajani believes David Njoku would be a perfect fit in Miami and a solid target for Willis.

Regarding that possible pairing, Dajani offered the following analysis:

Njoku turns 30 this summer, but he was a productive and athletic pass catcher for the Browns for years. He made the Pro Bowl in 2023 after catching 81 passes for 882 yards and six touchdowns. Njoku's 384 career receptions rank third in Browns history, his 4,062 yards receiving rank 12th and his 34 receiving touchdowns rank sixth.

The Miami Dolphins offense is going to look very different with Malik Willis replacing Tua Tagovailoa, and Njoku would provide a versatile security blanket for a young quarterback who is getting his first shot to be a full-time starter.

As Dajani mentioned, Njoku has a Pro Bowl selection under his belt and is one of the best pass-catchers in Browns history. Considering the tight end will turn 30 this summer, he also shouldn't force the Dolphins to break the bank.

In 2025, Njoku played in 12 games and caught 33 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns. The veteran has ended with at least 500 receiving yards in four separate seasons and made the Pro Bowl in 2023.

The Dolphins did re-sign Greg Dulcich and add Ben Sims in free agency, but neither tight end has ever been a primary receiving option. Njoku would be a perfect security blanket for Willis and would take some pressure off of Jaylen Waddle.
