Deepak Garg, Vice Chairman, Managing Director, Sany Heavy Industry India Takes Charge as CII Maharashtra Chairman for 2026-27

Deepak Garg, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt. Ltd, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Maharashtra State Council for 2026–27, while Ms Aarti Kuchibhatla, Managing Director and India Lead – Government Advisory & Strategic Partnerships, Accenture, has been appointed as the Vice Chairperson.

With Maharashtra playing a critical role in India's economic trajectory, the new leadership aims to accelerate business growth, policy advocacy, digital transformation, and industry–government collaboration. Mr Garg’s leadership will focus on strengthening the state’s industrial and economic framework, with emphasis on manufacturing competitiveness, infrastructure development, innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, thereby enhancing Maharashtra’s global competitiveness.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Deepak Garg, Chairman, CII Maharashtra State Council, said:

"Maharashtra has always been a powerhouse of India’s industrial and economic growth. As we move towards the next phase of development, strengthening manufacturing competitiveness, accelerating infrastructure creation, and embracing advanced technologies will be critical. CII Maharashtra will work closely with the Government, industry, and startups to create a collaborative ecosystem that enables innovation, drives productivity, and supports sustainable industrial expansion across the state."

He further added:

"Through deeper policy engagement, industry consultations, and knowledge partnerships, CII Maharashtra through its zonal offices in Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, Nashik and Thane will focus on enabling sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, construction equipment, logistics, and emerging technologies to scale faster. Our collective goal will be to support Maharashtra’s journey towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy while ensuring inclusive growth and global competitiveness."

CII Maharashtra’s Key Focus Areas for 2026–27

Mr Garg succeeds Mr Vinayak Pai, who played a key role in shaping Maharashtra’s industrial and economic roadmap over the past year. Under the new leadership, CII Maharashtra will continue to work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and society to drive the state’s development agenda for 2026–27.

The key focus areas will include:
