‘I think it's a shame that I always have to justify myself. I believe I demonstrate this on the pitch," Undav told Sky Tv at an event on Wednesday where players distributed food and drinks to those in need in a local church.
Undav said his name is not mentioned enough when it comes to the ideal formation some three months ahead of the start of the World Cup.
"I score the most goals, am in second place overall as far as scorerrs are concerned," he said.
Undav is second in the Bundesliga scorer table behind Bayern Munich's Harry Kane with 14 goals and he has 18 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
Undav, who has three goals from five caps but has not been called up lately, said he has not been in contact with Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann since the start of the year.
Nageslmann's squad for tune-up matches at the end of March against Switzerland and Ghana could give an indication who can hope for a place in the World Cup squad and who not.
"I'm a good, classic striker, but I can also be a good number 10," Undav told Absolut Stuttgart whether his name might come up less often in discussions about strikers because he can also play behind the front line.
"It's not my fault that I have the quality to play as a number 10, that people don't talk about me as a striker," he said.
