After modest contributions early in the tournament, his form dipped sharply, including five straight single-digit scores and a duck in the Super 8 stage. Speculation has followed, but Brook’s stance was clear.

Speaking in a post-match interview reported by the Times of India, Harry Brook said: “There’s been a lot said about Jos.
“I said the other day that he’s played 150 games for England in T20Is, and people probably need to take a little step back from that.”
Brook added: “He’s probably the best white-ball player to have ever played the game.
“He’s in a little bit of a rut now, but I think that’s an exciting thing for everybody in the world to know what he could produce in the next couple of games.”
Buttler’s recent scores of 3, 3, 7, 2, and 0 have intensified scrutiny, yet Brook framed the downturn as temporary rather than terminal.
Harry Brook is confident Jos Buttler will respond
Harry Brook continued: “He’s obviously got a lot of fire in the belly, and he wants to go out there and show everybody what he’s made of.
“Look, he averages 34 striking at 145 in 150 games. He’s a phenomenal player, and I have no doubts he’ll go out and do well.”
The statistics underline Buttler’s long-term output, even if his current tournament returns fall short of expectations.
England face a pivotal semi-final with little margin for error, but Brook’s comments suggest there is no appetite within the camp for drastic changes.
For England, the hope is that experience and pedigree outweigh short-term struggles when it matters most.
