The Los Angeles Dodgers signed right-handed relief pitcher Keynan Middleton to a minor league deal Friday.

Middleton last pitched in MLB for the New York Yankees in 2023, spending 2024 sidelined with injury in the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization and 2025 in an independent league. The right-hander has historically had issues with injury, missing most of 2018 and 2019 after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but has managed some solid numbers when healthy.
His first MLB season came with the Los Angeles Angels in 2017, where he made 64 appearances and had a 3.86 ERA on the season. Despite his limited number of appearances across 2018 and 2019, he had a 1.78 ERA through 26 games.

He made a little bit of a comeback in his last MLB season in 2023, posting a 1.88 ERA with the Yankees in 12 games.
The Dodgers made a point to establish some depth in their bullpen this offseason, and this is exactly the kind of move which could make a difference. If Middleton can rediscover the form he had prior to his injuries towards the end of the 2010s, the Dodgers will have another stellar arm to use in a reinforced bullpen in the coming season.
