WEATHER: KZN and North West Brace for severe thunderstorms

KWAZULU-NATAL

A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for the western parts of the province. Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours are expected, along with damaging winds, excessive lightning and hail.

DURBAN

Durban will experience cloudy conditions with scattered showers and rain. A minimum temperature of 22°C and a maximum of 26°C are forecast.

NORTH WEST

The eastern parts of North West have also been issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms. The intense weather could lead to flooding of roads, bridges and low-lying areas.

MAHIKENG

In the provincial capital, Friday will be partly cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. Temperatures are expected to range from 16°C to 30°C.

FREE STATE

The Free State will see morning fog patches over the extreme eastern areas and along the Lesotho border. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein will be partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 13°C and 31°C.
