The San Francisco Giants have a good problem to have.

Bryce Eldridge is one of the most promising sluggers in baseball.

He plays first base, though. So does Rafael Devers, their big trade acquisition last season.

So what to do with Eldridge? Do you relegate a youngster to DH right away?

It seems that way. In the Giants' Spring Training lineup on Sunday, Eldridge is the designated hitter, and Devers is at first base.

That full lineup looks like this:

  1. Luis Arraez 2B
  2. Matt Chapman 3B
  3. Willy Adames SS
  4. Rafael Devers 1B
  5. Patrick Bailey C
  6. Jung Hoo Lee RF
  7. Bryce Eldridge DH
  8. Will Brennan LF
  9. Harrison Bader CF

Robbie Ray is on the mound for the Giants.

Eldridge will surely get some chances in the field this spring, too. The Giants will want to be able to trust him there.

But really, this is about his bat.

If Eldridge slugs, they'll find a spot in the lineup for him, no matter what it means positionally.
